Amsys Opens Apple Authorised Training Centre (AATC) in Manchester, UK
Amsys, a European AATC, has opened a new AATC in Manchester, at the site previously occupied by Cryptic Peach. Amsys will operate in partnership with Soho Editors Training, UK. The new Amsys site will offer the full range of Apple IT and Pro Apps courses. The Vitti Fund to Honor Late Apple Certified Trainer Michael Vitti
The Vitti Fund celebrates the life of Michael Vitti, founder of the New York City Final Cut Pro User Group, also known as the Moving Pictures Collective of NYC (MoPictive). An integral member of the digital video industry, Michael was an Apple Certified Trainer who passed away last year at the young age of 46. The Vitti Fund provides educational grants in Michael’s name for certification programs, workshops, distance learning, or two-year and four-year programs dedicated to digital arts. The Mac OS X Directory Services and Mac OS X Deployment 10.6 exams are both available at all Apple Authorized Training Centers (AATCs) and Prometric Test Centers. These two exams count towards the following certifications:

The Final Cut Pro 7 Level One exam is now available at Prometric Test Centers for $200. With 5000 locations worldwide, Prometric extends access to some Apple exams. Prometric offers all Mac OS X exams and Final Cut Pro Level One. All other Pro Apps exams are available only at Apple Authorized Training Centers (AATCs). Final Cut Server, Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio Recertification
To support the new versions of Final Cut Server, Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio, Apple Training & Certification will offer new courses, certification exams and tracks. With these exciting new releases, all Final Cut Server, Final Cut Studio 2 and Logic 8 certifications will be retired, effective January 31, 2010. While Certified Pros may still use these logos on business cards, resumes and websites, Certified Pros without more current certification will be removed from the Apple Certified Professionals Registry on this date. To make recertification as easily as possible, Certified Pros will be provided the opportunity to recertify online for a limited time. Eligible end users will be notified of this special offer via email after the new courseware begins shipping.

With the release of new versions of Final Cut Server, Final Cut Studio, and Logic Studio, Apple Training & Certification is releasing new courses and certification tracks. If you are a current Certified Pro, you will receive an email providing you with the opportunity to recertify for the new versions online. This is a limited time offer only available to those who hold Final Cut Studio 2, Final Cut Server or Logic Studio certifications. Normally you must go to an Apple Authorized Training Center (AATC) to take a certification exam in a proctored setting. Detailed emails will be sent after the new courses and exams are released.

Manhattan Edit Workforce: Connecting Students with Employers
Manhattan Edit Workshop, or MEWshop, is an Apple Authorized Training Center (AATC) in New York City. Always looking for new ways to connect students with employers, MEWshop launched their Manhattan Edit Workforce program. Each student in the Six Week Intensive Workshop cuts a demo reel, which is paired with the student's resume and archived on a private web page. Reels and resumes are shared with leading editing and post-production facilities - 17 in the New York area thus far, with plans to add at least as many West Coast and international companies by the end of 2009. The updated G.I. Bill offers enhanced educational benefits to Veterans, including reimbursement for courses and exams. Future Media Concepts' (FMC) Washington DC and Boston locations are both approved to train Veterans and others who are eligible for VA Education Benefits. Interested clients must first obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, which can be applied for at www.gibill.va.gov (allow 4-6 weeks). Apple's new Apple Certified Media Administrator (ACMA) certification is designed for system administrators in charge of installing and maintaining networks that include Mac OS X, Final Cut Server, and Xsan.
